Josh McManus - Intern
Josh is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern here at High Mountain Counseling. Josh's passion for his work is rooted in breaking negative thought and relationship patterns and helping instill hope in clients where there seemingly is none. Josh brings both a neurological and relational approach to counseling, recognizing that one’s mental health is influenced by a wide variety of factors. His style of counseling emphasizes authenticity, warmth, and humor, believing that every person that steps foot into the counseling room deserves to be seen and known and has the capability to live a life better than they ever thought possible
My Story
A Colorado native, Josh has always possessed a long standing passion for mental health awareness and de-stigmatization. However, Josh started his professional career in another field, obtaining his Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration from Colorado Christian University and worked in the corporate consulting sphere before pursuing his true passion and pivoting to the field of psychology.
Josh is currently in his last year of his Masters of Arts program at Denver Seminary for Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Additionally, Josh is currently conducting research with Dr. Nahanni Freeman from George Fox University regarding the perceived inclusion of self-in-other and its effects on opinion conformity.
In his free time, Josh enjoys spending time with his friends and family, weightlifting, scuba diving, hiking, reading, and working on his motorcycle.
